Looking for outdoor team-building activities for a company outing with colleagues? At KOMAEN in Oirschot, you can enjoy a range of outdoor group activities together. Play a round of Pitch&Putt golf, try to complete a footgolf course in as few kicks as possible, or choose a team sport such as bubble football or knotshockey. You can also explore the surrounding countryside on an E-Chopper or electric fatbike. These activities give colleagues the opportunity to spend time together outside their usual working environment.

Choosing the right outdoor team-building activity depends on your group size, the time available and your team's interests. Pitch&Putt requires no previous golfing experience and can be played over 9 or 18 holes. Footgolf takes approximately one hour, while bubble football and knotshockey offer more competitive team games. E-Chopper and fatbike tours provide a different way to enjoy the outdoors, with specific participation requirements depending on the activity.

After your outdoor activity, you can stay at KOMAEN for lunch, drinks or dinner without travelling to another venue. Outdoor activities are part of the wider range of team-building activities at KOMAEN, which also includes group games and other shared experiences. The programme can be tailored to your group size, preferred activities and available time, subject to availability.

Outdoor team-building activities at KOMAEN

KOMAEN offers several activities for teams looking to spend time outdoors. During Pitch&Putt and footgolf, participants work their way around a course, while bubble football and knotshockey involve matches between teams. The activities therefore differ not only in duration, but also in how colleagues play together or compete against one another.

These four activities take place at KOMAEN in Oirschot. You can compare them by game format, duration and group requirements to find an activity that suits your team.

Golf activity · approx. 1.5 or 2.5 hours Pitch&Putt golf

In Pitch&Putt, the aim is to get a golf ball into each hole in as few strokes as possible. The course has shorter holes than a traditional golf course and features obstacles such as slopes, bunkers and water. No previous golfing experience or golf proficiency certificate is required.

For larger groups, the Texas Scramble team format may be used. Each participant plays their own tee shot, after which the team selects the best ball position and everyone continues from there. This encourages colleagues to make decisions together during the game. Whether Texas Scramble is available depends partly on group size and how busy the course is.

Duration: approximately 1.5 hours for 9 holes or 2.5 hours for 18 holes. A short introduction and the necessary golf equipment are included.
Football and golf · approx. 1 hour Footgolf

Footgolf combines football with the principles of golf. Using a football, participants try to complete nine holes in as few kicks as possible.

At KOMAEN, participants are generally divided into groups of around four people. These groups start at different holes and work their way around the course. This makes footgolf an option for colleagues looking for a relatively short outdoor activity.

Duration: approximately 60 minutes. Football boots are not permitted.
Team sport · approx. 1 hour Bubble football

In bubble football, participants wear a large inflatable bubble around their upper body. Teams compete against one another in matches where bumping into other players is part of the game.

The activity is supervised by a referee and can be organised as a tournament. The standard format accommodates groups of 15 to 28 participants. For larger groups, alternative arrangements can be discussed.

Booking condition: bubble football can only be booked in combination with another activity or a food and drink arrangement.
Team sport · approx. 1 hour Knotshockey

Knotshockey is a playful variation of hockey. Instead of a conventional hockey stick, participants use a plastic stick fitted with a foam head. Matches are usually played with four or five players per team.

Under the supervision of a referee, up to four teams of seven participants can be formed. The standard format accommodates groups of 15 to 28 people. Larger groups can contact KOMAEN to discuss a suitable arrangement.

Booking condition: knotshockey lasts approximately 60 minutes and is only offered in combination with another activity or a food and drink arrangement.

The activities differ in physical intensity and competitiveness. When choosing an activity, it is therefore worth considering the interests, abilities and size of your team.

Explore the countryside around Oirschot with your team

Outdoor team building does not have to involve a sporting activity at KOMAEN itself. You can also explore Oirschot and the surrounding countryside together on a planned route.

With an E-Chopper or fatbike, you set off from KOMAEN and follow a predetermined route. This offers a different experience from Pitch&Putt, footgolf and team sports: the emphasis is on travelling together and exploring the area.

Electric scooter tour · approx. 2 hours E-Chopper riding

On an electric E-Chopper, you follow a set route of approximately 24 kilometres through Oirschot and its surroundings. The route takes you past locations including the historic market square and the surrounding countryside.

E-Choppers are available for groups of 2 to 15 people. Riders must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid moped licence or category B driving licence. Wearing a helmet is compulsory, and KOMAEN provides helmets.

Good to know: the route is predetermined and takes approximately two hours. For larger groups, combining E-Choppers with fatbikes may be an option.
Electric bike tour · approx. 2 hours Fatbike riding

Explore Oirschot on an electric fatbike along a predetermined route of approximately 28 kilometres. The route also passes through the village, where you can plan your own break.

The activity takes approximately two hours and is available for groups of 2 to 10 people. The minimum age is 12. A suitable navigation app is required to follow the GPX route.

Good to know: fatbikes can be combined with E-Choppers. The group size and practical arrangements will be agreed in advance.

Would you like to organise a combined E-Chopper and fatbike tour for a larger team? It may be possible to use both types of vehicle. The individual activity pages state different maximum group sizes for this combination, so please confirm how many participants can join on your preferred date when making an enquiry.

The group sizes shown are the standard guidelines. Other arrangements may be possible for larger groups or combinations of activities, but these cannot be guaranteed in advance.

Choose an outdoor activity based on the time available

Not every team has an entire afternoon available. Sometimes a one-hour activity is enough, while a longer team outing may include a tour through the countryside or a full round of Pitch&Putt.

Approx. 1 hour A short sporting activity Footgolf, bubble football and knotshockey take approximately one hour. The latter two must be combined with another activity or a food and drink arrangement.
Approx. 1.5 to 2 hours Play golf or explore the area Choose 9 holes of Pitch&Putt or a tour on E-Choppers or fatbikes. Specific participation requirements apply to the tours.
Approx. 2.5 hours A longer golf activity With 18 holes of Pitch&Putt, you can spend a larger part of the day enjoying the same activity.

Would you like to include lunch, drinks or dinner? Plan these parts of the day from the beginning so that there is enough time for both the activity and the opportunity to spend time together afterwards.

Consider the interests and abilities of your team

When choosing an outdoor team-building activity, group size is not the only important consideration. Physical abilities, interests and participation requirements also matter. Some teams enjoy competing against each other, while others prefer completing a course or exploring a route together.

Active or more relaxed Bubble football and knotshockey are physical team sports. Pitch&Putt and footgolf involve a different style of play, while E-Chopper and fatbike tours focus on exploring the area.
Playing in teams Pitch&Putt can be played using the Texas Scramble format. Bubble football and knotshockey involve matches between teams.
Practical requirements Check group sizes and participation requirements beforehand, such as the driving licence required for E-Choppers or the minimum age for fatbike riding.

An outdoor activity gives colleagues an opportunity to do something together outside their usual working environment. What the experience contributes to the team depends on the participants, the purpose and the chosen activity.

If a sporting outdoor activity is less suitable for your team, there are other team-building activities at KOMAEN, including group games that place less emphasis on physical exercise.

Planning outdoor team building in changing weather conditions

When organising outdoor activities, it is sensible to consider the season and weather forecast. Particularly when booking a team outing well in advance, it is important to understand what arrangements apply if the weather makes an activity unsafe.

Pitch&Putt in the rain

Pitch&Putt can generally continue in less favourable weather. However, if conditions on the course become unsafe, for example during a thunderstorm, the activity may not be able to proceed as planned. Waterproof clothing and footwear may be useful in rainy conditions.

Other outdoor activities

Different weather conditions or rules may apply to footgolf, bubble football, knotshockey and E-Chopper or fatbike tours. Discuss the available options for bad weather when enquiring about your chosen activity.

Clothing and footwear requirements may also vary. For Pitch&Putt, shoes without studs or heels are recommended. Football boots are not permitted for footgolf. E-Chopper riding also requires a valid driving licence and a helmet.

Combine outdoor team building with lunch, drinks or dinner

After an activity, your team can stay at KOMAEN to enjoy food or drinks together. This gives colleagues time to talk about the experience without having to travel to another venue.

Beforehand Lunch Start the team outing with a shared meal before the activity begins.
Afterwards Drinks Finish the outdoor programme with refreshments and time to catch up.
Extended programme Barbecue or dinner Combine the outdoor activity with a meal together.

An outdoor activity can be combined with the lunch, drinks and dining options at KOMAEN. Minimum group sizes apply to certain arrangements. For example, a barbecue is available for groups of at least 15 people and can take place indoors or outdoors.

Bubble football and knotshockey must be booked in combination with another activity or a food and drink arrangement. Please indicate how you would like to organise your team outing when making an enquiry.
