Yes: it is autumn again! And that makes us very happy, because that means the bock beers can be served again. True to tradition, they can be tasted in our café from the first Monday of October. Also this year we have made a selection with some gems. Both on tap and in the bottle!

When we talk about seasonal beer, autumn bock should not be skipped. A dark beer that is originally bottom-fermenting. However, in several countries (including the Netherlands) there are also several top-fermenting bock beers available. The dark autumn bock is only available for a limited period of the year: from October to February. Whereas previously the beers had mainly a malty and caramel taste (percentage around 6.5%), nowadays there are a multitude of possibilities. Therefore, we also serve four different bock beers:

Bock beers on tap

  1. La Trappe Bock beer | 7% | Spicy, bitter and the taste of licorice.
  2. Texels Bock beer | 7% | Barley malt, bitter and the taste of caramel

Bock beers from the bottle

  1. Gulpener IJsbock | 10.3% | Sweet, wheat, freeze-distilled and a nice caramel balance
  2. IJbok (brewer 't IJ) | 6.5% | Firm, less sweet, toasted grains, coffee and dark fruit
